A Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) allows the school to offer scholarships to eligible students from charitable donations managed by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.

How does an SGO work?
For many families, the ability to pay 100% out-of-pocket for Christian education is just not possible. The SGO scholarship blesses students in very important ways to help them soar.
It provides financial assistance to lower the family’s cost of attending ECA.
It is an approved track for choice scholarship eligibility which can provide a scholarship for years to come.
Who can give to the SGO?
Donations to the ECA’s SGO can come from individuals, corporations, partnerships, LLCs, PCs, trusts, and self-employed in the form of cash, credit/debit cards, securities, real estate, commodities etc.
Are there tax benefits?
The benefits of giving to the SGO goes beyond normal charitable giving. Indiana has earmarked over 16 million dollars to provide tax credits for SGO donations. Therefore, a 50% Indiana state tax credit along with federal deductions are available depending on your tax bracket.
