Elementary Academics

Elementary

Rigorous academic training begins in the Elementary. The Language Arts curriculum starts with a solid phonics foundation that builds into a comprehensive literacy program encompassing grammar, literature, informational text, spelling, and writing. Our math curriculum is also standards-based and teaches students to apply critical thinking skills to problem solve. The academic program also includes science, social studies, and Bible, as well as computer, music, physical education, and art in the classroom.

What makes the ECA Elementary School distinctive is the complete commitment to teach every subject from a Biblical worldview perspective. Students don’t just learn facts, they learn to process those facts through the lens of scripture.

Middle School

There is no question, the middle school years can be some of the most exciting, but also the most difficult in the life of today’s student. So much is already changing inside each child! When you add the culture shouting continually changing and contradictory messages, middle school is sadly the place where so many children are hurt and remain scarred through high school.

At ECA, we purposefully create middle school experiences and structures to allow students to grow, while protecting them from some of the natural difficulties of this time in life. The teachers are passionate about this age group and build an academic and spiritual foundation that will serve them beautifully in high school. Beyond the normal compliment of classes and sports, teachers run a variety of clubs based on student interest that give every student a unique place to serve or experience personal growth. Middle school is hard for every child in some way, but with loving Christian teachers who understand and embrace the challenges it can be a wonderful season of life!

High School

As we survey the current culture, we clearly see the need for a new generation of leaders who can successfully solve problems and address difficulties with great compassion. Beyond state test scores, we strive to assist families to launch young adults who effectively utilize God’s word in any situation to bring wisdom and clarity to life’s challenges.

The goal of high school study is for a child to think well in the real world, enjoy learning and use his or her mental abilities too for positive impact! In these final teen years, students are recognizing God given gifts and abilities, considering future careers and colleges, as well as becoming more independent with driving, first jobs and leadership roles. ECA greatly values partnering with families to maximize a young adult’s impact in the world as they launch into the next stage in life.

Students can graduate from Elkhart Christian Academy with up to 30 college credits!

Encourage One Another

This year’s theme is “Transformation” which is based off of Romans 12:1-2.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Each month, we dive in and focus on three main topics:

  1. Emotions That Move Us and Virtues that Shape Us
  2. Hearts That Reflect Him
  3. Transformed by Him
