Why Christian Education?

Before the 1950s public schools promoted and regularly practiced religious instruction, prayer, daily bible reading, and curriculum founded in Biblical truth.

Since that time legal battles have been pushing public schools more and more toward secularization.

  • 64% of 18-29 year olds who grew up in church have withdrawn.
  • 38% of Gen Z feel a strong conviction that marriage ought to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.
  • 36% of 18-35 year olds, who self-identified as evangelical Christians, believe that Jesus was a “great teacher, but not God”.
Pie Chart

The time a child spends at school comprises nearly a third of their total time and almost half of the time they spend awake!

The best way to overcome a secular society’s impact is for a child’s primary influences of home, school and church to be pointed in the same direction.

Partnership

While academic excellence is a chief aim of Christian schools, it is not the exclusive aim. Christian education is also concerned with the development of the whole student – as one who is made in God’s image, created to do His good works (Ephesians 2:10), and called to grow as His disciple.

That’s Our Goal!

At ECA, we seek to see God transform the lives of our students by cultivating souls, inspiring hearts, stretching minds, and equipping hands. An ECA graduate leaves prepared for college—and equipped for life beyond the classroom.
